Teachings on Salvation
According to the scriptures, one must know the true identity of Jesus Christ, be baptised in His name for the remission of sins, receive the gift of the Holy Spirit and live a holy life in order to enter into the kingdom of Heaven.
The next few articles are there to present a comprehensive teaching on the vital doctrines of salvation. We recommend that you read them all in the order they have been presented.
1. One and true God. The first and most important thing to know about God is that He is one. When one of the scribes asked Jesus about the first commandment, Jesus firstly stated that the Lord our God is one. Only after that statement, did Jesus make it clear that we need to love the Lord our God with all of our heart, with all of our soul, with all of our mind and with all of our strength... click here for more
2. Jesus Christ - the Son of God. A full understanding is needed on the identity and role of Jesus Christ. The reason for this is that everyone must know who the Lord Jesus is and follows Him alone. A different version of Jesus is dangerous as that would constitute idol worship. In the same manner that Saul on the way to Damascus asked the Lord “Who are you Lord?” before he asked “What should I do Lord?"... click here for more
3. Repentance. In the beginning when God created Adam and Eve, He wanted them to be His children, to be like Him, holy and righteous. They were allowed to do everything they wished except eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:16). That was the first commandment that God gave them, forbidding them to eat from the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil or they would die... click here for more
4. Baptism. Baptism is a must and a requirement for someone who believes on Jesus Christ to be saved. In the beginning of His ministry, Jesus who did not need baptism as He was born pure coming down from heaven, was baptised to fulfill all righteousness and show us that we also need to be baptised (Matthew 3:15-16; Mark 1:9; Luke 3:21)... click here for more
5. Calling on the name of the Lord Jesus. From the very beginning, there were two type of people in the eyes of God: the first after the seed of Cain – worldly, and the second after the seed of Seth – calling on the name of the Lord (Genesis 4:16-26 emphasis on v.26). The people of God were known by God because they called on His name... click here for more
6. Baptism of the Holy Spirit. John the Baptist prepared the way of the Lord, washing with the baptism of repentance. Announcing the coming kingdom, he declared that He who is greater than him, that is Jesus, “shall baptise with the Holy Spirit and with fire” (Matthew 3:11, NKJV). Moreover, Jesus affirmed that a person needs to be born again by being born of the water and of the Spirit before they can enter the kingdom of Heaven... click here for more
7. The Church. In the Old Testament, God met his people in the temple and they had a high priest who was mediating between the people of God and the Lord. Only the high priest was allowed in the Most Holy Place where he met with the Lord (Leviticus 16:1-34). Nobody had access to God in the manner that we have today. The temple was a shadow of the perfection that was to come in Christ... click here for more
8. The Kingdom of Heaven. There have always been two types of kingdoms in this world, the kingdoms of men and the kingdom of God. The Old Testament books are characterised with physical shadows of spiritual mysteries that were revealed in the New Testament through Jesus Christ our Lord (Colossians 2:17; Hebrews 10:1). The kingdom of Israel is also that type of a shadow which was revealed to be the everlasting kingdom of Heaven, where the presence of the Lord is.... click here for more
